Spring Revolution Daily News for 24 June 2024

The National Unity Government (NUG)

· In Saw Township of Magway Region, Gantgaw District People’s Defence Force-PDF (13) provided 200 lakh MMK to the displaced people who have had to stay in the deep forests due to the junta’s air attacks.

· Together with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs-NUG, Union Minister of Human Rights- NUG met with Mr. Robert S. Gilchrist, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, at the U.S Foreign Department on Saturday.

Revolution Activities

· In Monywa Township of Sagaing Region, there was a bomb attack via drone on the junta army on patrol near Monyway Tollbooth. Reportedly, there might have been casualties in the incident.

· In Queensland, Australia, the Myanmar community conducted an event for the 79th birthday of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, along with a fund-raising sales for the Spring Revolution.

· In the capital of California State in the U.S, Free Burma Action Committee – Sacramento and Myanmar ethnics conducted a sale, along with a music concert, to raise funds for the revolution in Myanmar.

· In New Jersey of the U.S, a fund-raising sale 2024 was conducted by Helping Hands for Burma to support the revolution.

· In Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region, a rally named ‘Let’s Never Get Back in This Revolution’ marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday.

· Sitagu Sayadaw, the Chair of Shwegyin Nikaya, called on the monks to forgive, forget and tolerate the assassination of the monk of Win Nimmatthanam Monastery. According to a member of Spring Revolution Monks’ Network, it highlighted his stand for those destroying the country.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

· In the south of Myawaddy in Karen State, a combined force of Karen National Union and the PDF seized control of the junta’s Sukali Camp on Thai-Myanmar border.

· Some armed forces have been demanding too much money from the vehicles passing Myawaddy Trade Route.

· In Ngape Township of Magway Region, CDF Asho conducted a surprise attack on a junta camp, killing 20 junta soldiers.

· In Titain Township of Chin State, the flag of PDF Zoland was reraised at the camp of Mount Canady.

· With 4 guns, 2 soldiers from the junta’s Aung Zay Ya Troop trapped in Mount Dawna, defected to Cobra Column. Reportedly, they were rewarded financially.

· In Moegoke Township, there were local battles between the junta army and Ta’ang National Liberation Army.

The Military Council

· In Thandwe of Rakhine State, the junta armed forces stationed at pagoda compounds in town have shot heavy weapons. Consequently, 6 civilians have lost their lives within 3 days.

· In Myingyan of Mandalay Region, the junta army opened fire at an ambulance, killing a monk.

· In Muse of Northern Shan State, Colonel Han Zin Soe, Captain Kyaw Thu Aung, Captain Chan Myay Linn and Captain Myo Nyi Nyi Tun were arrested in No. (127) in Kaung Hmu Lwe Ward on

18 June. Reportedly, they were from the junta army Unit (99) and they had been robbing wealthy townspeople.

· In Alone Township, the civil society organizations from China and Myanmar held an event in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the initiation of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence.

· The junta Minister of Foreign Affairs left for Iran to attend Asia Cooperation Discussion.

· The military junta announced that Daw Htay Htay Win, a clerk at Myanmar Embassy in Paris, France, had been absent from work starting from 20 June.

Summary on 24 June

· The military junta led by Min Aung Hlaing is just a gang of criminals. It has been visible over time. Since the past, soldiers have committed crimes such as theft, robbery and rape in ethnic areas. In the recent case, even a colonel robbed the rich in town.
