Spring Revolution Daily News for 11 April 2024

The National Unity Government (NUG)

· In No. (3) Southern Military Sub-Region of the People’s Defence Force, a soldier from Ka-Ma-Ya (2) under the junta army regiment (44) defected to the White Dragon Column.

· On the 24th anniversary of Kayan National Day, the Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) sent best wishes to Kayan leaders and people as well as all of those taking part in the Spring Revolution.

· The proposals and suggestions were released in accordance with the Federal Democracy Charter and they have been adopted at the People’s Conference by the National Unity Consultative Council and the NUG.

Revolution Activities

· In Beelin Township of Mon State, there was a bomb attack via drone on the administration office in Sayar San Ward. Reportedly, the building was damaged.

· On Wednesday morning, the Thai Army increased security measures in Mae Sot in Thailand due to heavy fighting in Myawaddy in Karen State.

· In Myawaddy, the junta’s departments were not able to open and the administration stopped operation.

· According to Alpha Bats Drone Force, they made second attack via drone on Southeast Military Headquarters in Mawlamyein while the second junta leader Soe Win was there at 1:30 pm Tuesday.

· On Wednesday, Bamar People’s Liberation Army (BPLA) successfully completed their basic military training Batch (6).

· In Sagaing Region, Shwebo-Kyaukmyaung Road Section was temporarily closed off on Wednesday morning. According to a focal person of Black Wolf Army, it was reopened at about 12:00 pm.

· In Monywa Township, From the People to the People Social Group provided vegetables to 500 displaced people.

· On behalf of a donor, Dibeyin Brothers provided Indian rice with chicken to displaced children.

· In Mingaladone Township of Yangon Region, there was an explosion in the clearance operation of the mines set near the junta’s Myoma Police Station. Reportedly, some junta members were injured.

· In Longlone Township of Tanintharyi Region, there was an attack on the junta’s immigration office at close range.

· In Tanintharyi Township, the members of Red Wings PDF conducted security checks on the Union Road Section.

· In Pathein Prison of Ayeyarwady Region, women political prisoners do not have adequate healthcare. In addition, the foreign medicines sent from outside for them have been confiscated by the prison authorities.

· In Hpakant of Kachin State, there was a rally against the military dictatorship and the junta’s Military Service Law. They also showed their support for the KIA, PDF and NUG.

· Due to heavy fighting in Myawaddy in Karen State, Hto Kaw Koe Road Section and Kyet-U Taung Road have been closed off starting from Wednesday morning.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

· On Wednesday, Karenni National Solidarity Organization, known as White Star based in Mawchi of Karenni State, announced that they would fight the military junta.

· In the clearance operation in Lweje on China-Myanmar border, the Kachin Independence Army confiscated a large sum of money from the junta’s Ka-La-Ya (142).

· Karenni Combined Forces stated that the ways into and out of Loikaw would be temporarily closed off starting on Wednesday.

The Military Council

· For the celebration of Thingyan in Naypyidaw, the military junta has tightened security and set up pandals in front of the City Hall and on Pyinmanar-Taungnyo Road.

· To give support to Myawaddy, a junta convoy of about 30 military trucks and armoured vehicles left Hpa-Ang.

· On Wednesday morning, U Myint Hlaing, former Union Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation in the tenure of U Thein Sein Government and a retired brigadier general, was arrested in Naypyidaw.

· According to the junta’s Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation, there will be power outage in some townships of Yangon Region from 10 to 17 April due to the maintenance of the Yadanar Offshore Gas Project.

· According to the junta’s Ministry of Immigration and Population, the nationwide population census would be collected with 42,000 staff members from 1 to 15 October 2024.

Summary on 11 April

· To regain control of Myawaddy, the military junta has arranged to conduct an invasion with a large number of forces. They tend to destroy the towns and villages whenever they have a great loss. Knowing such bad habits, local people have escaped to Mae Sot of Thailand.
