The National Unity Government (NUG)
· In Salin Township of Magway Region, the People’s Defence Forces (PDFs) assassinated three village administrators who had been helping with the implementation of the junta’s Military Service Law.
· Minister of Defence-NUG stated that the ongoing public’s Spring Revolution is the second revolution and it has succeeded the same flag of 1945 revolution with White Star in the Red, meaning the unison of all the revolution forces.
· Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG conducted a workshop on administration for Township People’s Administration from Sagaing Region.
· At 1:00 pm Wednesday, there was a meeting between the Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration-NUG and Township People’s Administration from Magway Region and Mandalay Region.
Revolution Activities
· In Pale Township of Sagaing Region, Yinmabin District PDF arrested a junta captain.
· In Magway Region, the members of Pwint Phyu PDF volunteered at the farms of local people.
· The International Crisis Group stated that after the coup, the trust of Chinese Government in Myanmar’s military junta has declined. They also called on the international community including the United Nations Security Council to take advantage of it and cooperate with China to resolve Myanmar’s crisis.
· In Shwebo Township, the Local Strike Committee and local people protested against the military dictatorship and the junta’s Military Service Law.
· In commemoration of the Fascist Revolution Day, Butalin Township Students’ Union conducted an anti-junta march, chanting slogans.
· In Kantbalu Township, junta troops invaded the area to collect the list of young people from three villages for military service. Reportedly, over 5000 people have had to run away.
Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)
· In Theinni Township of Northern Shan State, there were local battles between Shan State Progressive Party/ Shan State Army and Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army for two days.
· According to the spokesperson of Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Brigade (5), the junta armed forces have left the town of Hpapun and Karen revolution forces have been doing clearance operations in the area.
· In Moemauk Township of Kachin State, Kachin Independence Army seized six junta camps including Yawyone Strategic Camp. They also confiscated a large number of weapons.
· Regarding the distribution of humanitarian aid by Thai government to the war victims via Myanmar’s Red Cross Association, the Karen National Union criticized it.
· In Nyaung Shwe Township of Southern Shan State, the junta army fired mortars into Tikoe Village without any battles. According to Pa-O National Liberation Army, the whole village has had to run away.
· The Head of the KNU’s Defence Department called on the revolutionists to fight hard for equality and self-determination of all ethnic people in the country, including Karen nationals and Kawthoolei.
· The Chair of the Ta’ang National Liberation Army stated that they and the public must protect the whole region of Ta’ang including Namsam in Northern Shan State.
The Military Council
· The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing claimed that the defence power would increase in Myanmar due to the compulsory Military Service Law and the Reserve Forces Law. He added that they would proceed with what should be done.
· According to the junta’s Information Department, those without the UID issued by Ministry of Immigration can get it free of charge at the respective township immigration departments.
· In the speech on the 79th Military Day, the junta leader claimed that the interference of some superpowers on small nations is a form of modern-day colonization.
· On Wednesday, the junta leader laid a wreath and saluted the martyrs at the mausoleum in Naypyidaw.
Summary on 29 March
· Judging by his recent speeches, the junta leader seems to be fond of the junta’s Military Service Law, which could make up for the loss of the human resources in their forces. He added that they would proceed with it.
