Spring Revolution Daily News for 9 May 2024

The National Unity Government (NUG)

· Minister of Human Rights-NUG met with the responsible personnel from the Foreign Ministry of New Zealand and discussed Myanmar’s affairs.

· In Tanintharyi Region, the frontline medical team of Longlone Township People’s Defence Force (PDF) completed their training Batch (2).

· In Wellington of New Zealand, Minister of Human Rights-NUG met with Myanmar community on Tuesday.

· On Tuesday, Ministry of Foreign Affairs-NUG warned for the second time to Myanmar people taking refuge in India not to get involved in the politics of the Indian states where they have been staying.

Revolution Activities

· In Yinmabin North of Sagaing Region, a rally ‘Let’s Never Get Back in This Revolution’ marched against the military dictatorship.

· In Salingyi Township, Burmese Revolution Solution-BRS team, along with the public, conducted a protest on Wednesday.

· In Kantbalu Township, a combination of the PDFs attacked the junta army camp in Male Village. With a great loss, the military junta carried out more than 30 airstrikes.

· In Sagaing Township, there was a bomb attack via drone on the junta Tank Unit (6005) based in Ohn Daw Village.

· Chinland Defense Force – Kalay Kabaw Gangaw (CDF-KKG) lost 4 members in battles in the first week of May.

· Kagabu People’s Force (KPF) rewarded 10 lakh MMK to one of their members who had been able to wrestle with a junta soldier in the battle to seize Sunprabun of Putao District.

· In Thayetchaung Township of Tanintharyi Region, the combined revolution forces attacked and seized the junta camp in Pedat Village on Wednesday morning. Reportedly, 23 junta soldiers were caught alive.

· In Saw Township of Magway Region, a combined force of PDFs conducted attacks using rockets on the junta’s army unit, police station and airport. Reportedly, there were casualties among junta soldiers.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

· In Chin State, a sergeant from the junta army unit (274), along with weapons, defected to Mindat CDF.

· In Moegoke Township of Mandalay Region, the junta army attacked the camp of Ta’ang National Liberation Army in Nyaunggone Village.

· In Shwe Kyin Township of Bago Region, the junta army invading the area arrested and killed 2 local people, according to Karen National Union (Central).

· In Nyaunglebin District of Bago Region, the junta army shot mortars into local villages. Reportedly, a person lost their life and the houses including a nursery school were damaged.

· According to the founder of India for Myanmar, a political roadmap is necessary for Chin Political Organization and Chin Defence Forces to resolve the problems in a situation that cause military clashes and to get political agreement as soon as possible.

· In Hpasaung Township of Karenni State, 7 junta soldiers including the pilot died and 2 others were injured in the shooting down of a junta helicopter, according to the KPLA.

The Military Council

· The military junta has banned all the men aged between 23 and 32 from working abroad. For the ones outside of that age group, they gave permit to work abroad starting from Tuesday.

· On Tuesday, the Speaker of Cambodian Upper Parliament had an online meeting with the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing. Reportedly, he called for an online meeting with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. This call has been rejected by the junta.

· For the stability of China-Myanmar border area, the Chinese Ambassador met with the junta’s Foreign Minister in Naypyidaw.

· For the second batch of the junta’s military training, 50 young people from Mon State were sent.

· For trade zones and posts to be able to be established near the borders like in other countries in accordance with international procedures, the junta’s Committee on Monitoring and Reporting conducted their third meeting.

· With a high demand for soldiers and with a great loss, the military junta led by Min Aung Hlaing has recruited young people by force all over the country for the military training Batch (2). In addition, they have prohibited men from the age of 23 to 32 from working abroad.
