Chin Brotherhood offers support on Arakan Army’s 15th year anniversary

The Chin Brotherhood has announced its intention to collaborate with the Arakan Army (AA) in safeguarding the interests of the Rakhine and Chin ethnic communities.

This declaration was made in a message marking the 15th year anniversary of the founding of the Arakan Army, conveyed by the Chin Brotherhood representing six Chin resistance groups on 10 April.

A spokesperson for the Chin Brotherhood explained to Mizzima on 11 April that their intent is not merely short-term cooperation during the revolutionary period but entails fostering long-term relations and commerce between the Chin and Rakhine people.

On 11 April, a representative from the Chin Brotherhood said, “Our intention goes beyond mere cooperation during this revolutionary phase; we aspire to enhance long-term relations and economic ties between the Chin and Rakhine communities.”

Furthermore, the Chin Brotherhood affirmed its commitment to partnering with the AA to dismantle totalitarian systems and forge their own destiny, while concurrently safeguarding the interests of the Rakhine and Chin ethnic groups.

Moreover, the spokesperson emphasized their role as a conduit to fortify the bond between the two organizations and advance the collective welfare.

The message also commended the AA for its resilience, perseverance, and notable achievements over the past 15 years, highlighting this year’s anniversary as a significant milestone marked by substantial progress in both military and political objectives, highlighting the AA’s courageous and insightful leadership.

The Chin Brotherhood stated that the AA holds significant support and represents hope for ending the military dictatorship, a desire shared by the people of Myanmar as a whole.

Additionally, the Chin Brotherhood expressed hope for the swift attainment of military and political objectives by both the AA and the entire Rakhine populace.

Chin Brotherhood comprises organizations such as the Zomi Federal Union, Chin National Organization, Chin National Council (Mindat), Maraland Territorial Council, Chin Defense Force (Kanpetlet), and Chinland Defense Force (Matupi).

The AA has seized control of eight towns in Rakhine State and the town of Paletwa in Chin State during offensives that commenced in Rakhine State on 13 November.
