The National Unity Government (NUG)

Dr. Shwe Pone, Deputy Minister of Health-NUG, stated that the military junta has frequently conducted aerial bombings on clinics and hospitals, and it is getting progressively worse year after year. As the communication has been cut out in one third of the country, a lot of effort has had to be put for the supply of medicines and medical equipment.
In Magway Region, No. (14) Pakkoku District People’s Defence Force (PDF) conducted an event on Friday, providing uniforms.
In Waterloo of Iowa State in the United States, the 56th Kayaw National Day was celebrated on 17 April. Present on the occasion was U Moe Zaw Oo, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs-NUG, and he delivered a speech of honor.
At 8:00 am on 14 April, Naypyitaw PDF and Pyinmanar PDF carried out an event in memory of their members who sacrificed their lives for the revolution last year – Comrade Bone Myat Ko, Comrade Lamin Maung, Comrade Belone and Comrade Kayaygyi.

Revolution Activities

In Myingyan of Mandalay Region, there was an attack via projectiles on the junta’s Ka-Ma-Ya (15).
In Natoegyi Township, the PDFs attacked the junta army stationed in Shaw Phyu Village. Reportedly, both sides had casualties.
In Nyaung-U Township, local PDF attacked the Pyusawti Militia organizing gambling events near Taw Pyar Village.
In Myawaddy with resumed battles, the junta army conducted aerial bombings and fired machine guns. Consequently, there was fire, along with explosions, in wards.
There has been heavy fighting on the side of Myanmar at No. (2) Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge. Reportedly, the residents of Myawaddy have had to run away along Thaungyin River.
In Salin Township of Magway Region, four local administrators resigned on the same day.
Between Kamma and Pauk, a combined force of the PDFs conducted a mine attack on a junta convey. Reportedly, no less than five junta soldiers died.
The Prime Minister of Thailand stated that they have been closely watching the situation of fighting in Myawaddy on Thai-Myanmar border.
On Friday night, the revolution forces attacked the junta army at No. (2) Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge. There was a heavy battle all night long and even until 12:30 pm on Saturday.
In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, a combination of the revolution forces conducted bomb attacks via drone on three junta stations.
Reportedly, 69 Thai experts sent an open letter to Thai government, calling for not sending back Myanmar people in Thailand at risk of the junta’s oppression and the military service law upon expiration of their visas and providing political refuge.
In Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region, a rally of Shwe Yekyi marched against the military dictatorship on Saturday.
In Yinmabin North, a local rally named ‘Let’s Never Get Back in This Revolution’ led an anti-junta march on Saturday.
In Myitkyina of Kachin State, the junta soldiers and police opened gunfire in the prison. Consequently, four detainees including two political prisoners lost their lives and more than 10 others were injured, according to Political Prisoners’ Network Myanmar.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

The spokesperson of the Arakan Army (AA) stated that the military junta has been committing various crimes including drugs and they have never admitted their sins.
The PDF Zoland announced that they had well-received the weapons supported by the public. They also called for such continuous support.
In Myawaddy Township of Karen State, the revolution forces were in the compound of No. (2) Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge, where the junta soldiers from Ka-La-Ya (275) had been hiding. According to Karen National Liberation Army, the junta members in groups have been running along Thaung Yin River.

The Military Council

In Myay Bone Township of Rakhine State, the junta navy fired heavy weapons without any local battles. Reportedly, a displaced woman lost her life.
After the crackdown on the prison riots in Myitkyina with casualties, the junta Deputy Minister of Home Affairs arrived in Myitkyina.
On 18 April, there was riots inside Myitkyina Prison. The junta propaganda team claimed that four prisoners had lost their lives and eight others had been injured in the incident.
In Sittway of Rakhine State, the junta’s Commander of Western Military Region and the responsible personnel encouraged the junta soldiers, police and their family members receiving medical treatment at the military hospital.
There has been heavy fighting between the revolution forces and the junta army at Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge in Myawaddy until Saturday evening. Reportedly, some houses in town were burnt down.

Summary on 21 April

In Myitkyina Prison, the prisoners made a protest as they were not allowed to enjoy the relief of their sentence as per the reduction. The junta armed forces shot dead the prisoners. However, the junta propaganda team circulated the news as if there had been prison riots with casualties.
In Myawaddy, the revolution forces have been fighting the junta soldiers hiding at No. (2) Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge. In response, the military junta has conducted air strikes, shooting at civilian targets.
