Spring Revolution Daily News for 6 February 2024

The National Unity Government (NUG)

· According to the Ministry of Defence- NUG, they attacked and seized Malone Camp in Thandaunggyi township of Karen State.

· On the 63rd anniversary of Kachin Revolution Day, the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hlattaw (CRPH) sent best wishes to the Kachin ethnic people, Kachin leaders and the Revolution.

· On Sunday, there was a meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration and the Township People’s Administration from Tanintharyi Region, Ayeyarwady Region and Bago Region.

· The leader of the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and the Deputy Minister of the NUG inspected the junta army Kalaya (130) base in Mantone.

Revolutionary Activities

· In Kantbalu Township of Sagaing Region, houses were burnt in Pale and Thabyaytharlay villages on Sunday.

· The Ethnic Chin Association stated that it had asked for help from international organisations by sending the facts related to the death of 618 Chin people living in Chin State and outside after the Military Coup.

· In Kawlin Township of Sagaing Region, the Junta Army could not move forward due to attacks by People’s Defence Forces.

· Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, the Foreign Minister of Thailand, called on the European Union to help resolve the crisis of Myanmar.

· On Monday, the United Nations Security Council will conduct a close-door meeting about Myanmar.

· In Tanintharyi Township of Tanintharyi Region, the Burmese Students’ Union conducted a movement on the third anniversary of the Spring Revolution.

· In Anh Township of Rakhine State, a woman died and five others were injured as they stepped on a landmine while preparing to grow summer paddy.

· In Kyankhin Township of Ayeyarwady Region, a local rally protested against the military dictatorship on Sunday night.

· In Demoso Township of Karenni State, The Junta Army conducted bomb attacks from fighter jets twice on a school for displaced children on Monday morning. Reportedly, four children lost their lives and more than 10 others were injured.

· In Hommalin Township of Sagaing Region, a combined force of local PDFs attacked the Junta Army retreating from Shwe Pyay Aye. Reportedly, there were casualties among junta soldiers.

· On Sunday, Myanmar people walked for 3 miles on the third anniversary of the Spring Revolution in Los Angeles in California State in the U.S.

· In Yayphyu Township of Tanintharyi Region, Dawna Column conducted bomb attacks via drone on the Junta Army kamaya 410. Reportedly, 3 Junta Soldiers died.

Ethnic Armed Organisations (EAOs)

· In Sisai Township under control of the Pa-O National Liberation Army (PNLA), the junta army has constantly fired heavy weapons and conducted air strikes.

· On the 63rd anniversary of Kachin Revolution Day, the Three Brotherhood of Northern Alliance sent a statement with best wishes.

· The Arakan Army (AA) seized Taungpyo camp in Maungtaw, Rakhine State and over 60 junta soldiers ran away to Bangladesh.

The Military Council

· In the ASEAN-EU meeting the junta’s Myanmar Ambassador U Soe Lin Han stated that they have been trying for the political discussions on self-administration and self-determination of ethnic people and approving them in the Parliament.

· The ASEAN workshop against Drugs was conducted online in Naypyitaw.

· The junta minister of Sport and Youth met with staff from Shan State and Kayar State.

Summary on 6 February

· Although the international community and civil society organisations pointed out their war crimes, the military junta conducted an aerial bombing on a school. For such activities, there must be action against all the responsible persons in an international court.
