The National Unity Government (NUG)

· On Sunday, there was a meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public’s Administration and the Township People’s Administration from Tanintharyi Region, Ayeyarwady Region and Bago Region.

· In Pale Township of Sagaing Region, there was a clash against the junta army invading the area near Myagone Village. According to the Local Public’s Administration, the military junta opened fire from an MI-35 helicopter for about 45 minutes.

· In Minhla Township of Bago Region, there were four attacks on the junta army invading Mount Karchin. Reportedly, 40 junta soldiers died.

· In Paungty Township of Bago Region, a junta informer was shot dead.

Revolutionary Activities

· On the border of Ye-U Township and Taze Township in Sagaing Region, the junta army has invaded local villages and conducted aerial attacks. Reportedly, thousands of local people from over 20 villages have had to run away.

· On their 1,060th day of protest, a combined rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin saluted the PDF members who had lost their lives.

· In Sagaing Township, there was a bomb attack on the junta soldiers and Pyusawti members in Kywepone Village at about 2:00 pm Sunday.

· In Yinmabin Township, a local rally named Shwe Nwe Thwe with Strong Determination led a march against the military dictatorship.

· In Yinmabin Township, a rally named ‘Let’s Never Get Back in This Revolution’ marched against the military dictatorship on Monday.

· In Monywa, the SAF conducted attacks via projectiles on the junta’s Northwest Military Headquarters and the junta’s Regiment (508) on 15 February.

· In Salingyi Township, Pale General Strike Committee showed revolutionary movies including The Way in a local village. They also had political talks with the public.

· In the Yaw Area of Magwe Region, there was a free meeting between the LDF and the YPDF on 10 February.

· In Thanlyin Township of Yangon Region, the junta army checked the overnight guest list on Sunday night and Monday morning. They then arrested some young people who had not registered as guests and who could not show National Identification Cards.

· In Gyobinkauk Township of Bago Region, five staff members working for the junta’s Forestry Department were shot dead.

· In Dawei Township of Tanintharyi Region, there were three battles near Thingantone Village on Saturday. Reportedly, four junta soldiers died.

· In Longlone Township, the Medical Team of a Local PDF conducted a 5-day refresher course and successfully completed it on Sunday.

· In South Korea, Daegu Sayardaw led a movement for the strong support of the revolution and the provision of food to the displaced people.

Ethnic Armed Organisations (EAOs)

· On Monday, the Karen National Union (Central) called on the youth generation and the public to go against the junta’s Public Military Service Law and to cooperate in the Spring Revolution.

· The Chin National Front called on the young people who are eligible for the junta’s Public Military Service Law, to take part in the fight against the military dictatorship.

· In Mancy Township of Kachin State, a combination of revolutionary forces led by the Kachin Independence Army attacked the junta’s Sikangyi Strategic Camp on Saturday morning and seized it.

· In Myebone Township of Rakhine State, the junta armed forces burnt their camps at Point (402) and Point (408). They then ran to the junta’s Western Military Headquarters.

· In Northern Shan State, a large number of workers and technicians have been in great demand for reconstruction after local battles. On Sunday, the Local Military and Administrative Committee allowed labour companies to recruit overseas employees.

· According to the Three Brotherhood of Northern Alliance including the Arakan Army (AA), the junta army has frequently burnt its own camps before withdrawing from them.

The Military Council

· In Yangon, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing expressed his belief that the partnership between Myanmar and China would get better and better.

· At Golden Dragon Chinese New Year’s Celebration on Sunday, the junta leader called on China and Chinese people to continue their support in the activities for peace, stability and development in Myanmar.

· On Sunday, the junta’s Health Minister claimed that hypertension is one of the main causes of untimely death.

· The junta’s Myanmar Ambassador to Laos claimed that Myanmar would support Laos for their successful chairmanship of the ASEAN in 2024 and fully cooperate with them.

· According to the junta’s Ministry of Economics and Commerce, the fixed price for edible oil is 5,140 MMK per viss for wholesale.

· In India, the 59th Discussion of Senior Officials and the 43rd Meeting of Central Bank Chairs in ASEAN were held on 15 and 16 February. Reportedly, a Myanmar delegation led by the Chair of the junta’s Central Bank joined them.

· Within one and a half months of 2024, the junta’s Central Bank has sold 121.31 million USD and 900 million Baht in the foreign currency market.

· According to the Overseas Employment Agency under the junta’s Labor Department, they will select and send about 11,000 workers to South Korea in 2024.

· In Mandalay, Sagaing and Magwe, the junta armed forces have shared brochures about the Public Military Service Law.

· To avoid the junta’s compulsory Military Service Law, officers from the junta army’s Ka-Ma-Ya 282 based in Kawthaung of Tanintharyi Region have sent their children to Thailand.

· The military junta inspected all the passengers of the Yangon-Kyaukphyu Flight. They then instructed non-resident passengers of Kyauk Phyu to leave and asked the families of the resident ones to show the household list.

· In Moemait of Northern Shan State, the junta army killed 102 people in battles to regain control of the town. They also raped four women including three young girls under 18 and murdered them.

Summary on 20 February

· Due to very little international support, the junta leader called on China to support them. In other words, he has to rely on the Chinese.

· Due to the junta’s Military Service Law, a large number of Myanmar youth have left the country in various ways.
