Spring Revolution Daily News for 7 May 2024

The National Unity Government (NUG)

· In Phaung Byin Township of Sagaing Region, there was an attack on junta troops on their way to Yaunghi Village. According to No. (1) Military Region, 7 junta soldiers died and 5 weapons were confiscated along with ammunition.

· Professor Dr. Khin Maung Lwin, the Chair of Federal Health Professionals’ Council (FHPC), donated 10 lakh MMK to Zero Guerrilla Force (Myingyan).

· In Sagaing Region, Pale Township Humanitarian Assistance Team and Public’s Administration supported rice, oil and phones to the responsible personnel of the information centres based in the area for the second time.

· On the 3rd anniversary of the founding of People’s Defence Force (PDF), No. (1) Military Region stated that under the Ministry of Defence-NUG, they would continue to fight until the end of the military dictatorship.

· At 1:00 pm Sunday, the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public’s Administration conducted a meeting (15/2024).

· In Kawkarait Township of Karen State, 12 junta soldiers including a captain died in a battle at the foot of Mount Dawna, according to White Tiger Column.

Revolution Activities

· In Tanintharyi Township and Pulaw Township of Tanintharyi Region, 5 PDF members lost their lives in local battles.

· In Natoegyi Township of Mandalay Region, there was an attack via drone on the junta army stationed in Aung Chan Thar Village on Sunday evening.

· In Ye-U of Sagaing Region, over 80 men were arrested by the junta army for military service. Consequently, the town has been deserted and quiet even in the daytime.

· In Taze Township of Sagaing Region, there was an attack on the junta camp in Kyungle Village. Reportedly, 14 junta soldiers died whereas a PDF member lost his life. In addition, weapons were confiscated.

· In Yinmabin North, a local rally named “Let’s Never Get Back in This Revolution” marched against the military dictatorship on Monday.

· In Yinmabin Township, a local rally of Daung Thway Ni with the Flag of Victory led a march against the military dictatorship.

· In Longlone with tight security of the junta army, Dawei Democratic Movement Strike Committee marched against the military dictatorship on Monday.

· In Pauk Township of Magway Region, the junta army conducted aerial attacks via fighter jet and helicopter on Mount Segyi without any local battles.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

· According to the Arakan Army (AA), junta soldiers including Deputy Commander of (15) Headquarters based in Buthitaung of Rakhine State, along with their families, gave up arms and defected to the AA.

· In Phasaung Township of Karenni State, Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF) managed to shoot down a support helicopter of the junta army on Monday morning.

· After the attack for 42 hours, Kachin Independence Army seized Giton Taung Camp, which they had had to let go in 2016 due to the invasion of the junta army for over 4 months.

· In Hpapun Township of Karen State, the junta army left their 5 camps on the Thai-Myanmar border in April, according to Karen National Union Brigade (5).

The Military Council

· At the time of heavy battles between the junta army and the Arakan Army (AA) in Rakhine State, 88 members of the junta’s Border Guard Police Force took refuge in Bangladesh on Sunday morning.

· According to the investigation of Mizzima, the military junta procured high-tech drones from Russia and Belarus recently. Reportedly, a confidant of the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing was mainly involved.

· On the third day of the 59th Gems Emporium, over 190 sets of gems were sold.

· The 78th Myanmar Fire Brigade Day was held at Myanmar International Convention Center (II) in Naypyitaw. There, the second junta leader Soe Win delivered a speech.

Summary on 7 May

· Due to the depletion of human resources, the military junta has prepared to conduct attacks using high-tech drones. As for the revolution forces, they have to take more caution for security of their military operations and camps.
