Myanmar human rights violations, 1-7 May 2024

Non-governmental organisation (NGO) ND Burma has released its weekly record of human rights violations that happened in Myanmar from 1 to 7 May.

According to ND Burma from 1 to 7 May the Myanmar junta launched airstrikes and dropped bombs in Magway, Tanintharyi and Bago regions, and Kachin and Rakhine states.

Members of the junta-aligned Pyu Saw Htee militia killed four civilians in Bago Region and men were arrested and forcibly conscripted into the army in Sagaing and Magway regions during that time.

During that week seven civilians were killed by the junta and over 50 were arrested. Two people were also injured by landmines.

As of 1 May, the junta also prohibited all men of conscription age from going to work abroad.
