Spring Revolution Daily News for 15 June 2024

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • In No. (2) Southern Military Region under the Ministry of Defence-NUG, Yangon Regional People’s Defence Force (5101) completed their basic military training Batch (1).
  • In the third anniversary report, Ministry of Health-NUG stated that they have been providing healthcare to over 100,000 students.
  • On Thursday morning, the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public’s Administration conducted a meeting. Reportedly, the Chair of the Committee and Union Prime Minister told Township Administration Teams to jointly prepare for military measures and the Ministries to give priorities to the activities which would help expand the areas of influence.
  • On Thursday, Ministry of Health-NUG announced that they have been providing healthcare at over 700 hospitals, clinics and mobile clinics.
  • In Chin State, Mindat Township People’s Administration announced that the townspeople could contact them for help if they are displaced to nearby villages.

Revolution Activities

  • In Monywa Township of Sagaing Region, there was a mine attack on a junta convoy carrying copper on the Monywa-Mandalay Road. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died on the spot.
  • In Yinmabin North, a local rally marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Friday.
  • In Yinmabin Township, a rally named ‘Daung Thway Ni with the Flag of Victory’ led a march against the military dictatorship on Friday.
  • In Yinmabin Township, a combined rally of ‘Let’s Never Get Back in This Revolution’ marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Taze Township, there was an attack via mortars on the junta armed forces stationed in local villages on the morning of 11 June. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers died and no less than 5 others were injured.
  • In Butalin Township, the junta army carried out an aerial bombing on Nyaunggone Village at 5:30 pm Thursday. Reportedly, 2 local people including a woman lost their lives.
  • In Mingaladone Township of Yangon Region, there was a bomb attack near the housing of Htauk Gyant Police Station on Wednesday night. Reportedly, there were casualties in the incident.
  • In Longlone Township of Tanintharyi Region, the PDFs raided a house where the members of Pyusawti Militia had been gathering on the afternoon of 10 June. Reportedly, a gun and a car were confiscated. Additionally, there was also an attack on Pyusawti members who had run away and 5 of them died.
  • The revolution forces called for the public’s participation in the Flower Strike on the 79th birthday of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on 19 June.
  • Justice for Myanmar identified the Indian businesses which have been supporting weapons and training to Myanmar’s military junta, and which have been encouraging war crimes.
  • According to Nyan Lynn Thit Analytica, there have been at least 46 cases of massacre by the junta army against the public within four months. Reportedly, 369 people lost their lives.
  • On Thursday, the National League for Democracy called on the international community including the United Nations Security Council to provide support more effectively so that the junta’s war crimes including massacres could be stopped and justice could be brought to the victims.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

  • In Chin State, Chin Brotherhood Forces started their attack to seize the town of Matupi. Reportedly, they managed to take control of the junta’s police station and the administration department.
  • In Naungcho Township of Shan State, the junta army shot heavy weapons into Thonese Village on Wednesday night. According to Ta’ang National Liberation Army, a person was seriously injured.
  • In Shan State, the junta armed forces have destroyed the roads and streets at the entrance to Lashio by using earthmovers. According to the PSLF/TNLA, the military junta has been concerned in case of any attacks on the town.
  • In Winemaw Township of Kachin State, Kachin Independence Army seized 2 junta camps in Sanikhu Village at about 6:00 pm Thursday.
  • On the 75th Kawthoolei Day, the Karen National Union (KNU) wished Myanmar people to achieve the aspiration of a federal democratic union.
  • The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs announced that 18.6 million people in Myanmar have been in need after the military coup for more than three years and 6 million children have been in hardship as well.

The Military Council

  • The Secretary of the military junta stated that preventive measures must be taken to overcome the infectious diseases transmitted through animals all over the world due to climate change and the ways of living of humanity.
  • On Thursday, Myanmar CDC and China CDC signed a memorandum of understanding in Naypyidaw.
  • After the military junta has printed billions of MMK and banned the VPNs, they have instructed the public to use digital currency and digital payment.
  • On Thursday, the junta’s Minister of Labour had a meeting with the UAE Ambassador to protect Myanmar people working in the UAE in accordance with the laws of that nation.
  • According to the junta’s Ministry of Education, the number of students enrolled at monastic schools in Yangon Region had increased more than the previous year.
  • In Ywar Ngan Township of Danu Ethnic Self-Administered Region, the area of 1206 acres had been regarded as Kaylartha Sanctuary starting from 6 June.
  • According to Reuters, the military junta have imitated the use of drones by the People’s Defence Forces (PDFs) and ordered thousands of drone from China for military purposes.

  • After three years of the military coup led by Min Aung Hlaing, millions of people have been displaced and the national economy has become worse. As millions of people are facing hardship, Min Aung Hlaing will go down in history as a bad leader.
