Spring Revolution Daily News for 26 December 2023

The National Unity Government (NUG)

· In a statement on the special occasion of Christmas for Christians, the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) wished Myanmar people all the best.

· The Ministry of Defence- NUG announced that the junta members from Naunggyi-I Police Station in Ayadaw Township of Sagaing Region ran away from their camp.

· In Ayadaw Township of Sagaing Region, a combined force of local PDFs attacked Naunggyi-I Police Station. According to the Ministry of Defence- NUG on Monday, about 18 junta soldiers and policemen died whereas the rest left the camp.

· In Pinlebu Township of Kawlin District in Sagaing Region, the Local People’s Administration inspected roads and bridges for local development, on 22 December.

· On Sunday, there was a meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim People’s Administration and Township People’s Administration from Tanintharyi Region, Ayeyarwady Region and Bago Region.

· On the Mawlamyein-Yay-Dawei No. (8) Union Road, a combined force of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and PDFs, which had been taking security measures, seized a car carrying things from the junta army Ka-Ma-Ya (406) that was relocating from Yebyu of Tanintharyi Region.

Revolutionary Activities

· In Madayar Township of Mandalay Region, a mortar fired by the junta army fell and exploded on Sunday afternoon, killing a woman.

· In Monywa Township of Sagaing Region, local people from a village protested against the military junta, on Sunday evening.

· In Monywa Township, there was an attack on the junta army on their way out from Thazi Prison. There was also another attack on the junta soldiers taking injured soldiers to hospital. According to the Bhama Liberation Democratic Front, 7 junta soldiers died and 4 weapons were confiscated.

· In Salingyi Township, a rally of local villages on the bank of the Chindwin River conducted an anti-junta movement on Christmas.

· In Salingyi Township, a rally of New Strength carried out a protest near the copper mine project operated by the Chinese Wanbao Company, calling on the Chinese government to stop killing Myanmar people by cooperating with the military junta.

· In cooperation with CDM students, a combined rally of Youth’s New Strength and Salingyi-Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship, raising a banner that said ‘China: Stop Killing Myanmar People by Supporting Fascist Criminals’.

Ethnic Armed Organisations (EAOs)

· According to the Ta’ang National Liberation Army which has seized junta camps, police stations and towns, they have completed Basic Police Training and General Administration Management Training.

· On the Mawlamyein-Yay-Dawei No. (8) Union Road, a combined force of the KNLA and PDFs confiscated a car carrying military items from the junta army Ka-Ma-Ya (406).

The Military Council

· In Rakhine State, the junta army fired heavy weapons at Mrauk-U, an ancient town and cultural heritage site. According to local people, the cultural museum and ancient inscriptions were hit and damaged.

· At the Church of Saint Michael in Naypyi Taw Pyinmanar, the junta leader Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said that the peace door has always been opened and they are always ready for peace with open arms. He added that every government of Myanmar throughout history has had to focus on the peace process and make an effort for it.

· Daw Than Than Nwe, the wife of the second junta leader Soe Win, accompanied by the wives of union ministers and responsible personnel, went to the military hospital in Thanlyin Township of Yangon Region and encouraged those receiving medical treatment.

· According to the junta propaganda media, the second junta leader Soe Win was present at the inauguration ceremony of military vessels on the 76th anniversary of the junta’s navy.

Summary on 26 December

· In reality, the military junta led by Min Aung Hlaing is just a group of religious extremists doing religious oppression. In other words, it is just a show-off that they have been present at religious events.

· The TNLA, which has seized the junta’s towns one after another, has conducted police training. Judging from it, they might soon implement people’s administrations.
