Spring Revolution Daily News 26 Jan

The National Unity Government (NUG)

· On Wednesday, there was a meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration and the Township People’s Administration from Mandalay Region and Magwe Region.

· In the second week of January, there was an online meeting between the Special Envoy to Myanmar Alounkeo Kittikhoun from Laos- the rotating Chair of ASEAN and the Minister of Foreign Affairs- NUG Daw Zin Mar Aung.

Revolutionary Activities

· In Ywar Ngan Township of Danu Ethnic Self-Administered Zone in Southern Shan State, a local PDF has been making inspections as the members of the junta’s militia Pyusawti have been dealing drugs.

· Due to local battles in Karenni State, some people have taken refuge in the Inle Area. Reportedly, thousands of displaced people require daily basic needs.

· In Tamu Township of Sagaing Region, local PDFs gave a reward of 126 lakh MMK to two junta soldiers who had defected to them along with weapons during a battle.

· In Wandwin Township of Mandalay Region, the junta administrator of Nabekan Village, who has been forcing local people to join the junta’s military training, was shot.

Ethnic Armed Organisations (EAOs)

· In Beelin Township of Mon State, a combination of revolutionary forces has been attacking the junta’s Wintarpan Camp.

· According to the Karenni Nationalities Defence Force, they will allow junta armed forces in the area to defect in groups.

· In Kawkarait Township of Karen State, local people provided food items to the members of Dawna Column.

· The Arakan Army (AA) announced at 11:40 pm on Wednesday that it had gained complete control of Paukdaw Town in Rakhine State.

· In Sisai of Shan State, a combined force of the Pa-O National Liberation Organisation, the KNDF and the PDF have started an offensive attack on junta camps on the road.

· In Southern Shan State, the Pa-O National Liberation Army has gained control of the junta’s Sisai Police Station, the junta army Ka-Ma-Ya (423) and (424).

· In Kutkhine Township of Northern Shan State, the Kachin Independence Army seized the junta camp strongly built in Namphetkar Village. Afterwards, they gained complete control of Namphetkhar.

· The AA supported food items to the monastery, nunnery and church near Muse (105) Trade Zone controlled by the Three Brotherhood of Northern Alliance.

The Military Council

· In Sagaing Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army raided two local villages on the Sagaing-Monywa Road. Reportedly, they killed 4 PDF members and burnt 20 people’s houses.

· The junta’s Kamayut District Court reached a verdict to auction Residence (54) belonging to State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on University Avenue in Yangon Region.

· The junta Union Election Commission announced on Wednesday that it had approved the establishment of the Mon Progressive Party.

· The junta Deputy Minister of Planning and Finance met with the directors of 11 departments under the Ministry in Karen State.

· The junta’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence received the visit of Mr. Marcoluigi Corsi, the United Nations Regional Coordinator to Myanmar and the Coordinator of Humanitarian Assistance.

Summary on 26 January

· In Southern Shan State, local battles got started. The revolutionary forces have gained control of the towns. They may soon do the same to local cities.

· In terms of diplomatic progress, the Special Envoy of the ASEAN met with the NUG. In other words, the revolution forces and organizations have got the better in military and diplomatic affairs.
