The National Unity Government (NUG)

· Via social media, the Acting President of the NUG stated that it is disgusting the military junta has forced the public to join the army and it is destroying the future of Myanmar youth more.

· On Saturday, the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) and the NUG jointly issued a warning to the political parties to get out of being regarded as the junta’s informers.

· In Gantgaw Township of Magwe Region, three fully-armed Pyusawti members from Legyi (West) Village defected to local PDF.

· In the statement for Karen National Day, the NUG mentioned that it is well aware of the people’s Spring Revolution as the end goal of the whole Union and it is a pleasure to have agreed to the common goal.

· Mandalay People’s Defence Force announced that a junta soldier, along with weapons, had defected to them.

Revolution Activities

· The responsible personnel of the PDFs called on the youth that it is the best time to cooperate with revolution forces and fight the military dictatorship.

· U Min Ko Naing called on the youth to go against the military junta in various ways including going to the liberated areas when being forced to join the army.

· According to Political Prisoners’ Network Myanmar, women political prisoners have been faced with the oppressions, not only physically but also mentally, in Myingyan (Central) Prison.

· In Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region, a rally named ‘Let’s Never Get Back in this Revolution’ protested against the military dictatorship on Sunday.

· In Yinmabin Township, a local rally named ‘Public’s Strength’ marched against the military dictatorship.

· In Monywa Township, the junta army arrested male travelers on Monywa-Mandalay Road for no apparent reason.

· In Kantbalu Township, the junta army arrested and killed two men from Inngoteto Village on Saturday.

· In Monywa, the junta army made inspections at Zalote Round-About starting from 3:00 pm Sunday.

· In Butalin, there was a bomb attack via drone on the junta army demanding money in front of the Statue of the General. Reportedly, two junta soldiers died.

· In Shwebo Township, 250 houses were burnt down to ashes in Myo Hla Village due to the junta army. Reportedly, a local social group provided the fire victims with green groceries.

· In Dibeyin Township, the well-wishers donated blankets and clothes to the displaced people.

· The military junta has started their recruitment by force between Sagaing Township and Myinmu Township. Reportedly, they have arrested over 40 young people.

· In Tandabin Township of Bago Region, four members of Royal Peacock Column lost lives in the battle in Zayatgyi.

· In Zayatgyi, a combined force of Karen National Liberation Army attacked the junta army based in town. Reportedly, there was heavy military tension in the area and there were a large number of casualties among the public due to the junta’s air strikes.

· In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, there were bomb attacks via drone on the junta gates at Sittaung Bridge and Moatpalin Crossroads on Sunday morning.

· In California, United States, Free Burma Action Committee-Northern California conducted their 124th public movement for Federal Union.

· In commemoration of the third anniversary of Spring Revolution, Myanmar Federal Democratic Mission Collection (MFDMC) carried out an anti-junta movement in South Korea on Saturday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

· The Deputy Military Chief Commander of Karenni Nationalities Defence Force warned the public that the Law on Public’s Military Service issued by the military junta on 10 February is not a light matter. He also stated that it is time for the whole country to fight the military dictatorship.

· The Chair of Ta’ang National Liberation Army and the Chief Military Officer of Arakan Army were present at the event celebrating the complete freedom from the military junta in Kokang Area of Northern Shan State.

· In Hpakant of Kachin State, there was heavy fighting between Kachin Independence Army and the junta army on Sunday. Reportedly, the junta soldiers dropped bombs via two fighter jets.

· According to the Three Brotherhood Alliance, the military junta has been invading Minbya seized by the Arakan Army both via air and water.

· On 9 February, Secretary General of Ta’ang National Liberation Army and responsible personnel went to the town of Namkham and met with the administration committee and the public.

· Pa-O National Liberation Army (PNLA) announced that they would blockade some road sections in Sisai Township of Southern Shan State due to the complex military situation in the area and the public were not to use them.

The Military Council

· The military junta announced that the Public’s Military Service Law, adopted in 2010 in the tenure of the State Peace and Development Council, must come into force starting from 10 February.

· The junta propaganda leader General Zaw Min Tun stated that it is compulsory to join the military service in Myanmar according to current situation and the public are to serve that duty proudly.

· With decreasing human resources, the military junta has reappointed former soldiers.

· According to the announcement by the junta’s Kamaryut Township Court, No. (54) Compound, the residence of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi in Yangon, would be on a bid on 20 March.

· According to the junta’s Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Singapore stood first in terms of foreign investments between February 2023 and January 2024.

· According to the junta’s Transportation Department, 5308 electric vehicles were registered from January 2023 to January 2024.

· In Chin State, the military junta has strengthened their forces based in Matupi with nearly 1000 junta soldiers.

· On Saturday, the military junta announced that Daw Phyu Mar Wai had been appointed as Chief Attorney of Yangon Region.

· On Saturday, the military junta announced that some members of Naypyidaw Council and the social ministers from states and regions had been replaced.

· Colonel Myo Win, recently appointed as a member of Naypyidaw Council, had been replaced with Colonel Ye Moe.

· The junta propaganda media claimed that the military junta had regained control of Kawlin seized by the KIA and the PDF. Reportedly, they have been carrying out mine clearance operation and rehabilitation.

· In Minbya Township of Rakhine State, the junta army set fire to Kyar Yebyin Village on Saturday. They also took away valuable property.

Summary on 12 February

· With a great loss in their human resources, the junta leader brought to life the law on military service in a rush. It added fuel to fire at the time of general hardships faced by the public due to the coup. It was said that even pro-military people were upset with it.
