The National Unity Government (NUG)

· According to the Yangon Regional Defence Forces under the Ministry of Defence- NUG, the number of applicants nearly met the target just within 48 hours after their announcement for recruitment and 30% of the applicants were women.

· On Thursday, the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) stated that they would implement plans and procedures as fast as possible to protect the public and young people.

· In Salingyi of Sagaing Region, there was an attack on the junta army stationed in town at about 10:00 am on 11 February. Reportedly, there might have been a large number of casualties among junta soldiers.

· In Pale Township of Sagaing Region, a combined force of the junta army and Pyusawti Militia arrested six local people in Loatthar Village at about 10:00 am Tuesday. They also set fire to four houses.

· In Gantgaw Township of Magwe Region, the junta army and Pyusawti Militia from Myauk Khinyan Village invaded nearby villages on Wednesday morning. They then killed ten civilians in a group.

Revolutionary Activities

· In Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region, a local rally of Shwe Yekyi led a march against the military dictatorship on Thursday.

· In Yinmabin Township, a rally named ‘Shwe Nwe Thwe marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday.

· At about 5:00 am Wednesday, there were attacks on the police station, court, accountant’s office and the junta army in the town of Dibeyin. Reportedly, three junta soldiers died.

· In the west part of Taze Township, the junta army dropped bombs via fighter jet on Union Road without any local battles on Wednesday noon. Reportedly, two truck drivers were injured and three trucks were damaged.

· In Shwebo Township, there was an attack on the camp of Pyusawti Militia in Ywarthar Village on Tuesday. Reportedly, seven junta soldiers died.

· In Shwebo Township, the junta army invading the area arrested 60 people on Wednesday. Reportedly, more than 10,000 people from 10 local villages had to run away.

· In Ayadaw Township, there were drone bomb attacks on the junta’s local police station and the Pyusawti camp in Thitgyingyi Village on Monday afternoon. Reportedly, a junta soldier died.

· In Patheingyi Township of Mandalay Region, the junta army arrested 35 young people in Ohnchaw Village Tract on Thursday night to conscript them.

· In Magwe Region, an alliance of revolutionary forces conducted an attack with a RC Plane on the junta’s Inbin Gate which controls all the routes from Myaing Township to Pakkoku Township.

· In Pakkoku Township, there were bomb attacks via drone and mortars fired at the junta members at Inbin Gate and Kyettoe Police Station at about 2:00 pm Tuesday.

· Sanchaung General Strike placed anti-junta stickers all over Yangon.

· In Tanintharyi Region, the junta army transferred some prisoners from Myeik Prison, including some political prisoners, to another one on Wednesday morning.

· In Tanintharyi Township, there was an attack with over 30 bombs on the junta army Ka-Ma-Ya (561) based in Nyaungbingwin at about 7:00 pm Monday. Reportedly, there might have been casualties among junta soldiers.

· After the Public’s Military Service Law came out, there have been too many visa applicants to Thailand. Reportedly, the Royal Thai Embassy issued a new regulation that they would accept the registration for only 400 people per day.

Ethnic Armed Organisations (EAOs)

· The Arakan Army announced that they had caught two high-ranking army officers alive and got the dead bodies of two others.

· In Rakhine State, there has been fighting between the junta army and the AA. Reportedly, the AA has been carrying out an offensive to Yathay Taung and Yanbye. According to the Three Brotherhood of Northern Alliance, the military junta conducted the defended using all their forces; land, navy and air.

· In Phapun District under the Karen National Union Brigade (5) in Kayin State, the junta soldiers ran away from two of their camps.

· In the Phaye Area under the control of the Kachin Independence Army, the KIA arrested local people who had protested against the mining of Rare Earth.

· In Mancy Township of Kachin State, the junta army destroyed the bridge at the entrance to Gyae-Oh Village in an aerial bombardment without any local battles.

· In Sisai Township of Southern Shan State, the junta army carried out an aerial bombing on Pazarkaloe Village without any battles at 10:30 am Wednesday. According to the Pa-O National Liberation Army, two people lost their lives.

· According to the Karenni Nationalities Defence Force, over 160 junta members including officers died and 250 guns were confiscated along with many other military items in the battles to seize Shadaw.

· In Karenni State, the Karenni Police Force and Local Defence Forces have conducted educational activities to reduce the speed of vehicles.

The Military Council

· On Wednesday, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing summoned ambassadors and diplomats serving their duty abroad. Reportedly, he instructed them that it is their duty to make the ‘real’ situation in Myanmar known to the international community. He also told them not to lose track of the situations in neighboring countries and the world, and to successfully implement their policies.

· The junta’s Public Military Service Recruitment Committee issued contact numbers for queries related to the law so that the public does not have misconceptions.

· The military junta announced that it had set up committees to conscript people in states and regions including Naypyitaw.

· The junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun claimed that there might be no more than one or two persons needed to serve in the military from each ward or village.

· The junta propaganda leader said that they have been implementing the Public’s Military Service Law as a long-term plan, not a short-term one.

· According to the junta’s Public’s Military Service Law, those studying and working abroad must also serve their duty when they return home. Reportedly, there will be 5,000 trainees per batch at the military training.

· On Wednesday, the Chair of the junta’s Union Election Commission said that the amendments to the by-laws of the political party registration law are being made in accordance with the political party registration law.

· The junta’s Minister of Home Affairs pays a monthly visit to the State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi being imprisoned at Naypyitaw Prison to fulfill her basic needs including healthcare.

· On Wednesday, the military junta announced that they had replaced the Ministers of Social Affairs in some states and regions.

· On Wednesday, the junta’s Union Supreme Court provided the mandate to Township Courts to deal with the legal cases of no more than 500 lakh MMK.

· From 27 January 2021 to 26 January 2024, 36.3 million people have been vaccinated to prevent COVID-19 all over the country. Reportedly, the vaccination coverage has been 84%.

· According to the junta’s Labour Ministry, it has resumed accepting demand letters sent from overseas companies to Myanmar employment agencies.

· According to the junta’s Ministry of Immigration, no exclusive instruction has been given regarding departures abroad.

· According to the Dhaka Tribune, 330 junta soldiers, who had fled to Bangladesh, were sent back home by ship on Thursday.

Summary on 16 February

· With a great loss in Rakhine, junta’s officers have died and some of them have been arrested. The junta army has been disorganized due to the AA offensive. They might have to let go of Rakhine State soon.

· With a great loss in human resources, the military junta has recruited new members in a rush. On the other hand, the youth have been trying to go abroad in any possible way as they do not want to join the junta army setting fire to villages and killing the public.
