Spring Revolution Daily News for 11 March 2024

The National Unity Government (NUG)

· Ministry of Health-NUG expressed sorrow for the loss of U Phyo Zaw Hein, the focal person of Shwebo PDF Medical Team, who had been arrested and killed by the junta army in Taze Township of Sagaing Region.

· In Monywa Township of Sagaing Region, People’s Security Force arrested five men who had sexually assaulted a young girl under the age of 18.

· Yangon Regional Special Force conducted a bomb attack on Myawaddy Housing, the residence of the officials from Myanma Economic Corporation, the leading importer and supplier of aviation oil for the military junta.

· According to Ministry of Human Rights-NUG, there was a diplomatic presentation regarding Myanmar’s affairs at the United Nations. They called for no acceptance of the junta’s tricks to gain legitimacy. They also urged seeking ways to promote the responsibility and accountability on human rights issues.

· According to Union Minister of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Risks Management-NUG, they managed to discuss the provision of humanitarian aid which Myanmar people really need, in the two-day meeting held by the National Security and Border Affairs Committee of Thai Parliament.

Revolution Activities

· In Mindat Township of Chin State, the junta army conducted an air strike on Suntaung Village where an event to commemorate International Women’s Day was being held.

· In Chaung-U Township of Sagaing Region, the revolution forces conducted bomb attacks via drone on the two camps of the junta army.

· In Hpakant of Kachin State, there was a rally in support of the Operation 0307 by Kachin Independence Army, the PDF and their alliance. They also protested against the military dictatorship.

· A policeman from Kalay, along with weapons, defected to the CDF KKG.

· In Sagaing Township, there was an attack on the junta police force taking security for the trip of the junta’s Deputy Ministry of Industry. Reportedly, four policemen died and many weapons were confiscated.

· In North Yinmabin Township, a rally named ‘Let’s Never Get Back in This Revolution’ carried out a farm strike, along with local people.

· In Myingyan Township of Mandalay Region, there was a bomb attack via drone on the junta army stationed in Ywagyi Village. Reportedly, 8 junta soldiers died.

· The Blood Money Campaign got started with a global movement on Sunday, calling for cutting off the sale and import of aviation oil to Myanmar’s military junta and waterway insurance in transportation.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

· In Tamakhan Village, the junta soldiers ran away from their camp, leaving their weapons behind. Reportedly, the KIA and the KPDF took control of it.

· According to the Arakan Army (AA), they caught some junta soldiers and officers, including the administrator of the junta’s No. (9) Military Training School in Kanni Village of Minbya Township in Rakhine State.

· In Kachin State, the junta’s Sunprabun Police Station gave up arms, raising the white flag.

· According to Ta’ang Land Education Council, they would open over 500 local-based federal schools, where the whole local community can take part, in Ta’ang State in the upcoming 2024-25 academic year.

The Military Council

· In Sittway of Rakhine State, mortars fired from the junta’s police force fell and exploded in the ward of Muslim people. Reportedly, 8 Muslims lost their lives and no less than 12 others were injured.

· According to City Development Committee, they have been implementing Tikegyi Livestock Zone for the sufficiency of meat and fish for the people in Yangon Region.

· According to Myanmar’s Rubber Association, they have been planning to export up to 350,000 tons of rubber in the upcoming fiscal year.

· According to the Department of Rural Development, they would implement mini power projects via household solar system, using around 20 billion MMK in the current fiscal year.

· The junta’s Yangon City Development Committee stated that they would hold Yangon Thingyan at the City Hall, along with the performance of artists.

· In North Dagon Myothit Township of Yangon Region, the junta’s Ministry of Labour inspected the vocational training school.

· The junta’s Deputy Ministers of Transportation and Communication inspected the staff housing in Naypyidaw.

Summary on 11 March

· Without giving a break to the junta army, the revolution forces have conducted attacks one after another throughout the country. It can be said that the junta armed forces have been suffering from military fatigue. At such time, the military junta might have to face loss sooner if all the revolution forces could implement the second wave of the revolution.
