Spring Revolution Daily News for 25 April 2024

The National Unity Government (NUG)

· A junta soldier, along with weapons, defected to Arlawaka Column of No. (2) Southern Military Region under the Ministry of Defence-NUG. Reportedly, he was rewarded 30 lakh MMK.

· On 12 April, there was a meeting between the Lawsuit Department under Ministry of Judiciary Affairs-NUG and township legal officers.

· In the drone bombs produced by No. (9) Shwebo District People’s Defence Force of Sagaing Region, the people can insert any text they like and take part in the revolution.

· The medical teams from Tanintharyi PDF and Myeik PDF conducted the 2nd Revolution Thingyan Sales. Reportedly, they earned income of 36 lakh MMK.

Revolution Activities

· In the south of Kalay in Sagaing Region, there was a bomb attack via drone on the junta inspection gate on Kalay-Gantgaw Road on 21 April. Reportedly, 2 junta members died and 5 others were injured.

· In Kalay Township, the junta army raided Yawchogwin Village and set fire to people’s houses on 20 April.

· On 22 April, there were bomb attacks via drone on the two junta stations in Kalay Township. Reportedly, two junta soldiers died.

· In Wetlet Township, the junta army carried out a bomb attack via drone on the gold field near Tonebogwin Village on Tuesday afternoon.

· In Madayar of Mandalay Region, Lieutenant Colonel Thet Naing Soe, a member of local military junta, was shot dead at a tea shop on Wednesday morning.

· In Myingyan Township, the revolution forces attacked the junta army camp in Kyi Village on 20 April. Reportedly, 15 junta soldiers died and 5 others were injured.

· In Myingyan Township, there was a drone attack on junta troops on their way out after burning villages on Monday. Reportedly, 7 junta soldiers died and many others were injured.

· In Magway Region, the military junta arrested over 30 people at Natmauk-Myothit Crossroads and from four local villages on Tuesday for military service.

· In Myaing Township and Pakkoku Township, combined PDFs conducted bomb attacks via drone on the junta stations and Pyusawti village on 21 April.

· In Waw Township of Bago Region, there were bomb attacks via drone on the junta stations including the junta inspection gate at Sittaung River Bridge on Tuesday morning.

· In Longlone Township of Tanintharyi Region, the PDFs conducted a guerrilla attack on a motorboat of the junta soldiers on their way to Kyauknihmaw Village on Tuesday morning.

· In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, U Win Aung, the administrator of Kawtin Village, was shot dead on Tuesday night.

· It was just a rumour that the leader of Yay-Balu Revolution Force had died. Reportedly, he is in good health.

· In Karenni State, Demoso Township PDF completed their basic military training Batch (22) on Tuesday.

· In Titain Township of Chin State, the junta army set fire to Mynwet Village for the second time on 21 April.

· According to Pa-O Youth Organization, 66 civilians including 10 children lost their lives and 79 others were injured within three months due to the junta armed forces in Southern Shan State.

· On behalf of donors, Karenni Social Network provided rice to three IDP camps in Karenni State on Wednesday.

· According to Justice for Myanmar, the PSS State-Owned Enterprise with the most shares by Indian government has been constantly supporting the junta navy with military equipment, infrastructure items and training.

· The Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and the Foreign Minister Mr. Panpree Phitthanukorn, together with Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of Defence, arrived in Mae Sot on Thai-Myanmar border on Tuesday afternoon.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

· On Monday, Restoration Council of Shan State/ Shan State Army announced that they got started with the grassroots level administration reform with equality and self-determination in accordance with federal democracy.

· In Kanpetlet Township of Chin State, Chin National Organization would try their best to be able to seize Kyindway Town.

· The 60th anniversary of the founding of Shan State Army was celebrated on Wednesday. Present on the occasion was Dr. Nyo Tun Aung, the Second Commander in Chief of the Arakan Army.

· In Mai Ngo Township in No. (2) Military Region of Ta’ang State, Ta’ang Education Council opened a summer refresher course for teachers Batch (3) on Monday.

· In Hpakant Township of Kachin State, Kachin Independence Army took complete control of the junta’s Ka-Ma-Ya (116) in Sezin Village.

· In Thandwe of Rakhine State, there was a battle between the Arakan Army and the junta army on Monday. Reportedly, over 30 junta soldiers died.

· There was a meeting between New Mon State Party (Against Dictatorship) and Mon State Federal Council. Reportedly, they agreed to political and military cooperation.

· In Karen State, a combined force of Karen National Liberation Army temporarily withdrew from Myawaddy. They would fight the junta’s supporting troops of Aung Zay Ya Operation.

· According to a CEC member of Karen National Union, Border Guard Force brought the junta soldiers to raise the junta army flag at Ka-La-Ya (275) in Myawaddy.

· According to United States Institute of Peace (USIP), three leaders of Karen State BGF have been mainly involved in dozens of Kyar Phyant gambling gangs in Myawaddy District and Shwe Kokko New Town.

The Military Council

· The junta propaganda leader Major General Zaw Min Tun claimed that the junta army regained control of Ka-La-Ya (275) in Myawaddy.

· The military junta transferred 173 Bangladeshi people detained in Sittway Prison of Rakhine State to the authorities in Bangladesh on Tuesday.

· In Lashio of Northern Shan State, the military junta arrested over 20 members of Kyar Phyant Online Gambling Gang, including 12 Chinese citizens, on Tuesday.

· The junta Minister of Education said that extra-curricular activities must be in the schedules including sports and reading at the library the basic education schools.

· According to the junta Ministry of Economics and Commerce, the export of mining products earned over 271 million USD in 2023-24 fiscal year.

· In Bago Township of Bago Region, the administrator of Phayar Kalay Village took away Ko Kyaw Kyaw Naing, the husband of a pregnant woman and the father of two children, by force for military service.

· Regarding the bid for Residence (54) belonging to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and her brother, there will be a hearing at Kamayut Township Court on Thursday.

· In Buthitaung of Rakhine State, thousands of houses have been burnt down since 12 April. Reportedly, the junta army, in cooperation with ARSA, ARA, have done so.

Summary on 25 April

· Although the military junta has claimed that they have been cracking down on online gambling gangs, their associates have been involved in such activities.

· The junta propaganda leader claimed that they had regained control of Myawaddy. However, in reality, the junta army, in cooperation with the BGF, just raised the flag at Ka-La-Ya (275). Reportedly, the junta armed forces will not be able to approach the town without the assistance of the BGF.
