The National Unity Government (NUG)

· In Longlone Township of Tanintharyi Region, PDF donated food and money to 91 households, the victims of the fire set by the junta army.

· Thabaitgyin Township PDF announced that the users of Mandalay-Moemait Road are to follow the guidelines of local defence forces.

· At 10:00 am Monday, there was a meeting between the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration- NUG and the Township People’s Administration from Tanintharyi Region, Ayeyarwady Region, Bago Region and Yangon Region.

· On Monday, there was a meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration and the Township People’s Administration from Sagaing Region.

· The NUG sent a letter to the ethnic revolutionary organizations to transfer a suspected rapist of a five-year-old child in Mae Sot Thailand if he is caught.

Revolutionary Activities

· In Myingyan Township of Mandalay Region, local PDFs attacked a junta’s police car on the Myingyan-Simikone Road on Monday morning. Reportedly, all the junta policemen in the car died.

· In Beelin Township of Mon State, the leader of the Pyusawti Militia in Zwe Kalar Village was shot dead.

· In Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region, there was a local battle near Let Taung Nge Village. Reportedly, 17 junta soldiers died and a gun was confiscated with ammunition.

· In Yinmabin Township, a local rally named ‘Let’s never get back in this revolution’ marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday.

Ethnic Armed Organisations (EAOs)

· In the Kokang Area under the control of Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army in Northern Shan State, the MNDAA announced that those carrying arms are to hand over their weapons or else there will be action against them.

· On the one-year anniversary of the founding of CDF Asho, they stated that they would fight till the end for the establishment of a federal democratic union.

· In Moemait Township of Northern Shan State, the Kachin Independence Army, along with the Three Brotherhood of Northern Alliance, joined the battle to seize the town of Mabain.

· In Hpakant Township of Kachin State, the KIA and the PDF attacked and took control of the junta camp in Hway Khar Village. Reportedly, Ma Chaw Su, a mother of five children, took part in the battle. Reportedly, the Kachin Independence Organization promoted her from a member to a sergeant.

· On 20 January, the Arakan Army conducted a guerrilla attack on a junta troops on their way to Minbyar of Rakhine State. Reportedly, a large number of junta soldiers died and weapons were confiscated.

· The Northern Alliance announced on Monday night that despite the junta’s action to violate the ceasefire on purpose, the Alliance Forces have been tolerant and the battles have not expanded only because of that.

· According to Karen National Union (Central), the junta army fired heavy weapons to local villages in Kyaukgyi Township of Bago Region. Reportedly, 3 people were injured, 4 houses were damaged and a local man was arrested.

The Military Council

· At 10:19 am Tuesday, a military plane had an accident on the runway. Reportedly, it was due to take back the junta soldiers who had run away from the battles in Paletwa Township in Chin State to Mizoram State of India.

· At the time of high prices of local rice and high exports, the military junta removed 3 blacklisted companies and re-allowed them to export rice again.

· India has been reflecting on the visa-free border pass between India and Myanmar and whether to stop the agreement or not.

· The junta leader claimed that they had allowed over a billion MMK for 201 research projects of the Ministry of Health and related departments in the 2023-24 fiscal year.

· U Aung Kyaw Phoe was appointed to be the Union Minister of the State Administration Council Ministry Office (3).

Summary on 24 January

· In Northern Shan State, the military junta has frequently violated the ceasefire negotiated by China. They might fight back in the areas seized by the revolutionary forces when they are able to organise their forces again.
