The National Unity Government (NUG)

· In Longlone Township of Tanintharyi Region, the Local People’s Administration announced that it could be contacted for technical support to set up bomb shelters in the area.

· On 3 February, there was an online meeting to motivate the CDM staff from the Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology- NUG for the third time.

· In Tandabin Township of Bago Region, a combined force of PDFs destroyed a Sittaung Bridge on the way of potential military support to the ongoing battle in Zayatgyi Town.

· The Kachin Independence Organisation agreed to the Common Stand for the Political Roadmap jointly declared by the NUG, the Karen National Union (KNU), the Karenni National Progressive Party and the Chin National Front. The Acting President of the NUG called for commitment and direct involvement of the remaining ethnic alliances in the Common Agreement.

Revolutionary Activities

· According to the Political Prisoners’ Network Myanmar (PPNM) on Wednesday, Ma Yin Moe, a woman political prisoner from Mandalay Obo Prison, died of kidney disease at Mandalay General Hospital as she had not gained access to adequate healthcare.

· In Dawei Township of Tanintharyi Region, a combined force of local PDFs attacked a junta camp in Thabyaychaung Village on 5 February.

· In Sagaing Region, the funeral of Soe Myat Min (alias) Arbye, a Unit Commander of No. (5) Monywa District Regiment Aung San Force, was conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday.

· At 11:30 am on Tuesday, revolutionary forces conducted a drone bomb attack on the junta’s Kyaungban Inspection Gate at the entrance to Butalin Town of Sagaing Region.

· In Hommalin Township, a member of the Shanni National Army under the junta army, defected to No. (3) Kanty District Regiment, along with his weapons.

· The junta army invaded Kawlin to regain control of the town seized by the revolutionary forces. On the third day, the junta army conducted air strikes and strengthened their forces on ground, causing heavy fighting almost all day long.

· Somewhere in Hpakant Township of Kachin State, a combined rally of local people and gem miners marched against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.

· The Foreign Ministry of Thailand stated that they hope to help resolve the conflicts while getting involved deeply in humanitarian aid provision in Myanmar.

· The External Affairs Department of the Indian Government warned all their citizens in Rakhine State to leave the area immediately due to heavy battles between the Arakan Army and the junta army.

· Justice for Myanmar made a comparative analysis on the international sanctions since the military coup.

Ethnic Armed Organisations (EAOs)

· In Tandabin Township of Bago Region, a combined force of the Karen National Liberation Army and PDFs attacked and seized junta camps including Ka-La-Ya (73) based in Zayatgyi on Wednesday.

· The Three Brotherhood of Northern Alliance announced that it needs mine clearance equipment to clear landmines in the towns they have seized in Northern Shan State.

· Within three days, the Arakan Army took control of the junta camps; Taungpyo Left and Right, on the border of Bangladesh and Maungtaw in Rakhine State.

· On 5 February, the Chin National Front/ Chin National Army announced that they would fight together with the Kachin Independence Organisation/Kachin Independence Army to reach the political aspirations of all ethnic people including Chin and Kachin ones.

· In Sisai Township of Southern Shan State, there were some battles between the Pa-O National Liberation Army and the junta army on Tuesday. Reportedly, there were fatalities among junta soldiers.

The Military Council

· In Hpakant Township in Kachin State, the junta army set fire to Maubin Village for no apparent reason. They also arrested three people including a priest.

· The military junta announced that according to Section (419) of the Constitution, Colonel Min Naung, a member of the Naypyitaw Council, had been replaced with Colonel Myo Win, and Colonel Kyaw Kyaw Lin, the Magwe Regional Minister for Security and Border Affairs, had been replaced with Colonel Moe Min Thein.

· The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that it was time to learn from the past and be united on the right path.

· According to the supervisor of Magwe Region Fire Brigade, 6 local fire stations were built in 2023-24 fiscal year.
