Spring Revolution Daily News for 3 April 2024

The National Unity Government (NUG)

· On Facebook, the NUG’s Representative to the Czech Republic posted that those trying to associate with the military junta amidst their inhumane activities must be regarded as their supporters and there is no word in the dictionary to shake hands with the bloody hands of the murderers.

· At 10:00 am Monday, there was a meeting between Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG and Township People’s Administration from Bago Region, Yangon Region, Tanintharyi Region and Ayeyarwady Region.

· At 3:00 pm Monday, there was a meeting between the Central Committee on the Interim Public’s Administration-NUG and Township People’s Administration from Sagaing Region.

· In Chaung-U Township of Sagaing Region, an alliance of People’s Defence Forces (PDFs) conducted an attack at close range on the junta army demanding money from the vehicles passing the Monywa-Mandalay Road.

· Acting President of the NUG stated that the Defensive War by Kachin Independence Army, the revolution front of the northern part of Myanmar, had brought significant and satisfactory results.

Revolution Activities

· In Tharzi Township of Mandalay Region, the abbot of the local monastery has been arranging to collect 200,000MMK per household in Buyone Village to support military servants.

· In Myingyan Township, the PDFs arrested a Pyusawti member and a drug addict in a battle in Kyaukkone Village. Reportedly, they released the Pyusawti member as he was only 13 years old.

· In Shwebo, a junta sergeant, a policeman and a police informer were shot while they were sitting at a tea-shop. Reportedly, all of them died and a 9mm pistol was confiscated along with some documents.

· In Wetlet Township of Sagaing Region, there was a battle near Sheinmaghar Village. Reportedly, a PDF member lost his life.

· In Salingyi Township, Latbadaung General Strike Committee, on behalf of doners, provided food to the displaced people.

· In Myinmu Township, there was an attack on the junta army demanding money near Yepoesar Lake. Reportedly, a junta soldier died.

· The Women’s Alliance provided feminine hygiene products to the female fire victims in Monywa District.

· In Salingyi Township, Latbadaung General Strike Committee supported stationery for 50 displaced students.

· As a 1096-day protest, a combined rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship.

· In Yinmabin Township, a local rally named ‘Let’s Never Get Back in This Revolution’ protested against the military dictatorship.

· In Mobye and Pekone under the control of the revolution forces in Southern Shan State, the junta armed forces conducted aerial bombings. They have also been arranging to invade the area on the ground.

· In Tightgyi Township of Yangon Region, a Muslim man, who had been selected for military service in Meelaung Sakhan Village, died of ill-treatment in the army.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

· On Tuesday, the Arakan Army announced that they had indefinitely blocked off the road section of Ahm-Padam connecting Magway Region and Rakhine State due to local battles.

· The Chair of Karenni Nationalities Defence Force inspected the training ground of their Batch (3).

· In Moemauk Township of Kachin State, an alliance of Kachin Independence Army has gained control of Lweje, a border trade town. On Tuesday, they carried out the area clearance operation.

· In Sisai, both Pa-O National Liberation Army and the junta army have been stationing in the town. On Tuesday, the PNLA warned the local people not to return home yet due to the danger of landmines.

· In Myawaddy Township of Karen State, there was an attack on support troops on their way to get back the junta’s Ka-Ma-Ya (355) seized by Karen National Liberation Army. Reportedly, over 20 junta soldiers died and weapons were confiscated.

· In Namkham Township controlled by the TNLA in Northern Shan State, there was a meeting to elect village administrators, the most basic units of local administration.

The Military Council

· On Monday, there was a meeting between the junta leader and Chinese Special Envoy on Asian Affairs. Reportedly, they discussed the border affairs, the crackdown on online fraud gangs and the trade between the two countries.

· In cooperation with China, the military junta arrested illegal migrants working online gambling or Kyar Phyant in Muse of Northern Shan State.

· In Tanintharyi Region, the military training would get started in the second week of April for those on the list of military service.

· On Monday, two members of the NLD Government in Kachin State, detained by the military junta, were released from Myitkyina Prison.

· In Phyarpone of Ayeyarwady Region, the military junta opened gunfire in the prison to crack down on a conflict between the prisoners and the staff on Sunday evening. Reportedly, 17 prisoners were injured and the junta army stationed in the prison.

Summery on 3 April

· At the time of the junta camps being seized on the border with China, China has put pressure on the military junta. The KIA has gained control of Lweje, a border trade town. Consequently, the military junta might have to let go of more border towns and trade camps in Northern Myanmar and they might face a decrease in the income from border trade.
