Spring Revolution Daily News for 8 April 2024

The National Unity Government (NUG)

· On Friday, the Spring Development Bank announced that they would provide all their profits to the share holders at the end of April.

· The Security Official of the United Nations had met with the junta leaders in Naypyitaw. Regarding it, the UN remarked that the military junta could not guarantee security, according to Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the UN U Kyaw Moe Tun.

Revolution Activities

· For the unity aspired by Mon people, there was a joint statement that there would be military and political cooperation between the political groups and the revolution forces in Mon State.

· In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, the KRF attacked the junta stations.

· In Monywa of Sagaing Region, there was gunfire between the junta army and the PDF in Inywarthit Ward on Friday morning. Reportedly, a PDF member lost his life and another one was injured and arrested.

· In Khin-U Township, local people protested against the junta’s recruitment by force on Saturday evening.

· In Kamma Township of Magway Region, a policeman from Thargyi Taung Police Station, along with weapons, defected to Myaing Township PDF.

· In Tilin Township, the Yaw Revolution Army rescued an old man and an old woman trapped in a fire at Yemyetni Village.

· According to a focal person of the Network for Unity Association Mizoram (NUA), emergency medicines have been in need for the members of the defence forces who have been injured in the frontline battles against the junta army in Chin State.

· In Mingaladone Township of Yangon Region, there were bomb explosions even amidst inspection of the junta army near Aung Mingalar Bus Terminal (4) at about 9:00 pm Saturday.

· In Mingaladone Township, there was an attack via projectiles on the junta’s Military Office on Saturday night.

· According to the UNOCHA, the fighting between the junta army and revolution forces gained momentum throughout the country in March and over 2.8 million people have been displaced.

· In Pale Township, there was a night strike, raising banners – “Ban Jet Fuels Exports To Myanmar Fascist Dictator”.

· In Ye-U Township, the S&C supported food items to the displaced people.

· In Monywa Township, a local social group provided rice and soap to the fire victims from Kan-O Village and Magyigone Village, which had been burnt down by the junta army.

· In Northern Yinmabin Township, a combined rally of local villages marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship.

· In Salingyi Township, a social group provided food to the displaced people.

· In Yinmabin Township, a rally named Taung Pu Thwe, along with the public and students, objected to the junta’s Military Service Law.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

· In Mudone Township of Mon State, Karen National Defence Organization Brigade (6) conducted an attack via drone on a junta team including Major General Mya Tun Oo on their way to Kawpayan Airport Project.

· In Karen State, 617 members of the junta armed forces gave up arms and a large number of weapons were confiscated by Karen National Union.

· In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, a combined force of Karen National Liberation Army attacked the junta positions.

· In Karen State, there still has been negotiation with the junta’s Ka-La-Ya (275) near Myawaddy to raise the white flag and give up arms.

· In Kawkarait Township, the junta armed forces had to retreat due to the attacks by the PDF and they all were concentrated in No. (97) army unit in town.

The Military Council

· According to the junta’s Ministry of Health, a 4-storey building is being constructed at North Okkalapa General Hospital for Operation Theatre Complex.

· According to the junta’s Ministry of Hotel and Tourism, Inle’s Floating Thingyan will be held from 13 to 16 April.

· In Tachileik of Eastern Shan State, the funeral of Two Dragons Sayardaw was conducted on Saturday afternoon. Present on the occasion were the members of the military junta.

· On Thursday, a security official of the United Nations Mr. Gilles Michaud met with the junta Ministers of Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs.

· Due to the negotiation between Thailand and the military junta, the MNA will run flights from Yangon to Mae Sot for emergency matters for three days, starting from 8 April.

Summary on 7 April

· There was a drone attack on a junta team led by Major General Mya Tun Oo. Judging from that, it can be seen that drones have become the strength of the military operations for the revolution forces. Later, there might be frequent attacks on the tours of the junta members.

· Hundreds of the junta members have given up arms in the battles against the revolution forces. In other words, they mentally collapsed.
