The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • In Australia, Union Minister of Foreign Affairs-NUG Daw Zin Mar Aung had a discussion themed ‘People’s Defensive War and the Public’s Resilience’ at Queensland University.
  • At the International Labor Conference, Ms. Nice S. Coronacion, a representative of the Philippines Labor Union Federation, called for recognizing the NUG as the official government of Myanmar and taking action against the military junta in accordance with International Labor Law.
  • According to Ministry of Defence-NUG and No. (1) Military Region, about 100 junta soldiers died and 39 weapons were confiscated in local battles across Kanty and Mawlight District in Sagaing Region.
  • The members of People’s Police Force under Ministry of Home Affairs-NUG started to take responsibility in 8 townships.
  • In cooperation with NUG Pay, Ministry of Defence-NUG opened NUG Pay accounts for each force so that the public can support them safely.
  • To commemorate the two-year anniversary of the founding of the Interim Heritage Management Central Committee, article and essay contests will be conducted.
  • On Friday, the NUG released a statement regarding the junta’s internet outage and blockage.

Revolution Activities

  • In Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region, Burmese Students’ Union Federation provided a meal to the displaced people.
  • In Yinmabin Township, a rally named ‘Daung Thway Ni with the Flag of Victory’ led a march against the military dictatorship.
  • In Salingyi Township, a social group supported bags to 50 students, who were fire victims.
  • In Kyaukse Township of Mandalay Region, there was an attack Friday on a local leader of Pyusawti, who had been recruiting for the junta army.
  • In Salin Township of Magway Region, there was an attack on junta troops for three consecutive days. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers including their commander died.
  • In Yenangyaung Township, there were local battles in Shwe Toatkan Village and Magyiyoe Village. On the morning of 4 June, a frontline PDF camp was burnt down.
  • In Dawei Township of Tanintharyi Region, there was an attack on the junta army on their way out from Kyaukme Taung Police Station on the afternoon of 2 June. Reportedly, 10 junta soldiers died.
  • In Longlone Township, Dawei Democratic Movement Strike Committee planted 2,500 trees to commemorate the planting season.
  • On Friday, Rakhine Civil Society Organizations and their alliance strongly condemned the junta army which had killed 76 civilians in Byaing Phyu Village of Sittway Township in Rakhine State from 29 May to 4 June.
  • According to Assistance Association for Political Prisoners, 24 children under the age of 18 lost their lives across the country from 1 May to 6 June due to the attacks of the junta army.
  • Malaysia, which would become the rotating Chair of the ASEAN, called for a stop to the violence in Myanmar and an end to the barriers against political dialogues.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

  • The spokesperson of the Arakan Army stated that they would recognize only those desired by the whole public as the government.
  • In Maungtaw Township of Rakhine State, the AA has seized 6 junta camps so far. Reportedly, no less than 500 junta soldiers died in local battles across Maungtaw, Thandwe and Ahn.
  • In the area under Karen National Union Brigade (6), a junta captain, along with weapons, defected to the KNU. Reportedly, he was rewarded 70 lakh MMK.
  • In Titain Township of Chin State, PDF Zoland completed their military training Batch (14) on 1 June.
  • CDF – KKG Gangaw Region successfully completed their basic military training (3).
  • In Kutkhine Township of Northern Shan State, Kachin Independence Army regarded Namphatkar Village as an urban area and got started with their administration.

The Military Council

  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing claimed that they would continue to do all the necessary activities for security.
  • The junta leader blamed business people for the extremely-high prices of gold and the dollar in Myanmar. He also said that they had been reviewing the procurement of houses overseas.
  • The junta leader claimed that they would conduct an election without fail.
  • According to the junta’s Examination Department under Ministry of Education, the result of the University Entrance Exam will come out on 11 June.
  • The junta Minister of Information said that they had been pursuing an MOU between Russia and Myanmar for the television sector.
  • The junta Minister of Population and Immigration said that there would be training related to the census starting from August.
  • The junta Ministry of Planning and Finance stated that the prize money of the 52nd Aungbarle Lottery, which had not been withdrawn, would be confiscated.
  • On Saturday morning, Thanlyin Bridge (3) connecting Thaketa Township and Thanlyin Township was opened and cars were allowed to cross it.
  • Thailand Condo Enterprise Association stated that the demand might decrease as the military junta has been cracking down on the procurement of condos by Myanmar people in Thailand.
  • In Titain Township of Chin State, Mansaung Bridge was blown up by the junta army on Saturday.
